βœ¨πŸ“… Homeschooling, Family Life & Organization Tips for February! πŸ’‘πŸ“²

Hello Reader,

February is now well underway, and most of us have likely been homeschooling for a few weeks now, and maybe even settling into a routine. What is working so far? What still needs work? Is there a simple solution? Are there other activities that you plan to add later in the year (sports, etc) that will require an adjustment to your current schedule?

It can feel overwhelming to try to manage everyone's school AND activities AND meals AND transportation AND... the list goes on. Thankfully, there are a lot of good resources that can help make things easier. One of my new favorite apps that I've found for family life management is called Cozi. It's an online planner with the option to add multiple profiles and share schedules between them. It also has tabs for meal planning, shopping lists, saving recipes, and more. It's a great tool to make sure everyone is on the same page, even if information doesn't get shared verbally. And, it's inexpensive. They have a free version with lots of features, but their "gold" membership is only $39/year!

Another helpful app for family communication and organization is Family Wall. Family Wall is a shared calendar with private family chat and photo sharing options. They have a free version, as well as paid versions starting at $4.99/mo.

Motion is an AI driven app that helps to prioritize tasks and prevent overcommitment. It is more expensive than the other apps mentioned, but for it definitely has a lot to offer.

Of course, there are a number of other resources available, as well, such as these simple meal ideas for busy days. For working parents, here are some strategies to help effectively manage work and homeschooling.

Whatever your personal family situation, don't feel like you have to reinvent the wheel or force a square peg into a round hole. There are lots of resources available, it may just take some time to figure out what works well for your family.

You've got this!

The Homeschool Learning Adventure Hello Reader, Yesterday, history was made with the signing of an executive order to begin the dismantling of the Department of Education. There are a lot of mixed feelings about this decision, and there is also a lot of confusion. Can real education even happen without federal oversight? How will children learn everything they need to know? This press release was issued on the subject, and essentially states that the intent is to remove the bureaucracy and...

The Homeschool Learning Adventure Hello Reader, One of the biggest challenges parents face when deciding to homeschool their children is how they will go about compensating for the change financially. For many dual income families, this means that one parent has to quit their career to stay home and focus on raising and educating the kids. It can be a big adjustment for everyone. It is possible to work while homeschooling, as well, but depending on the parent's career field and many other...
